BIOGRAPHY
If you're looking to watch back-to-back 900s all day long, call Elena, who knows a thing or two about the lofty tricks - she's been throwing 9s since 2003 and doing tandem since '08. The first woman to land a 900 in competition at only 13-years-old, Hight is a star in the pipe and, as such, has made her way on to the Olympic Team in both 2006, where she was sixth, and in 2010 for a 10th. At a hair over five-feet-tall, seeing Hight boost out of a superpipe is incredible, to say the least. Then, to watch her stomp out the most difficult combinations, it becomes evident why this little lady rider is known to be one of the most progressive in the sport.
ELENA SAYS
Looking back on the 2010 season there was definitely a lot of ups and downs in the industry and personally. I think overall I had a great season, I learned a lot and I had a lot of fun. I was really happy with how I rode and what I was able to accomplish. Next year, I’m definitely look forward to getting back on a board, competing and trying to push myself, learn some new tricks and have some fun. I'll take it a little bit mellower but definitely push myself.
FIRST TRACKS
Thanks to father Mike, Hight stepped on her first snowboard at age six. She was then competing in local events when she was eight. The progression pipeline worked its magic and landed the pipe star at some of the biggest competitions in the world before she could even drive a car.
OFF THE SNOW
Off the snow I enjoy surfing, cooking and running.
