BIOGRAPHY
For Marni Yamada, snowboarding is about pushing herself beyond her comfort lines. "I want to feel the edge of my physical, emotional and mental self." Lucky for her, she's really good at handling those limits and staying injury free.

UPDATE
The MarnStar was in classic form for the 2009 season as she stepped away from some on the side yoga instruction to land solid snowboardcoss results around the globe. In total she amassed nine top-20 finishes in World Cups, NorAms and two South American Cups. The highlight of the season was a World Cup seventh place in Argentina.

FIRST TRACKS
Ski racing at nine, Marni then attended Mount Hood Academy for Skiing and competed in college. After college she decided to buy a snowboard and won nationals in her first try.

OLYMPICS/WORLDS
2007 Worlds - 24th SBX, 2005 Worlds - 24th SBX

I AM
Able to fold into a pretzel, play golf and make a mean smoothie (not at the same time)...Working in the Garden Department at The Home Depot, teaching yoga, surfing on the Washington coast, and enjoying time with family and friends. Postshred career goals are to "help women give birth as a birth doula, work in hospice to help the dying. Teach art as a theraputic recreation. Follow my path of yoga"...I must travel with eye pillow, eucalyptus oil, iPod, good lotion and sunscreen. Best restaurants are organic ones.
